Tazlotahl

The death bringing fragment of a once-whole fey zephyr. In its separation, Tazlotahl took on the domain of death exclusively, meaning it cannot bestow life. It is beholden to a form of vampirism, using the life-breath of other creatures to empower and sustain itself. It is often associated with Warlocks, as many creatures bargain for their lives at its hand. Prolonging the inevitable, a pact with Tazlotahl leads to a great many gifts, but a stifled timeline with which to use them as the Warlock's life is slowly withered, their breath siphoned away.
In some version of the folk tale, Tazlotahl is described as 'cruel, yet necessary' - a vital component of the natural economy. In others, it is described as unnatural, a blight that suffocates the land it roams.
